hypios Recruits Solvers for Intelligent Crowdsourcing Project

15 March 2009

hypios launched hypios.info, a website that showcases its approach to problem-solving to potential problem-solvers worldwide.

hypios.info is the first public, ‘net-accessible presentation of the hypios service. The website features videos with hypios’ founders and employees explaining hypios’ innovative business concept and the unique features of its future website.

Drawing on its multi-national team, the presentation is in several languages, emphasizing hypios’ focus on developing a global network of solvers and enhancing the global exchange of ideas and solutions. hypios.info will help hypios build a substantial solver base for the day when the first problems go online in June.

“hypios aims to help people worldwide collaborate to solve difficult problems. Our international team is a microcosm of what we want hypios to become,” said Klaus-Peter Speidel, co-founder and hypios’ chief communications officer.

hypios represents a major shift in the way companies can approach problem solving. “On hypios, it’s not about your degree or how long your CV is, it’s just about the quality of your ideas. This is radically different from traditional approaches to problem solving, where you recruit people based on their reputation and your beliefs about what skills are required to solve problems,” said Oussama Ammar, founder and president of hypios.

By organizing global competitions that engage a diverse network of solvers in every problem a company needs solved, hypios will take problem solving to a new level of efficiency.

hypios.info is only the first step. The launch of hypios.com, with the first problems posted, is planned for June.

Hypios combines intelligent crowdsourcing, competency discovery technology, and human outreach to deliver an optimal open problem-solving service. “Seekers” post R&D problems to the network and select a deadline and a price for the successful “Solver.” Hypios, which draws from a network of 950,000 experts across the world, has been solving R&D problems for global companies since 2008.
